Cranberry Harvest, Part Two

Today, we had time to harvest the rest of the cranberries.

Since it has been three weeks since we began to harvest them, more of the cranberries were red and ripe than the first part of the harvest.  More had gone bad as well and we had to discard many.  Bad cranberries are soft, so it is easy to tell them from the firm, good fruit as you pick them.  Today’s harvest was 2.74 kg (6.0 pounds) after they were sorted and washed, making 4.95 kg (10.9 pounds) total this year.
